Hello World O_o

Hii!!! I'm Erick Somtochukwu otherwise known as various pseudonyms online or Eric irl.

Here's some random information about me, in no particular order:

I live in suburban city in Nigeria

I have strong political views mostly on eastern europe and eastern nigeria.

I'm a computer engineering undergraduate; I work exclusively on Windows 7 which is my favourite

The operating systems I work on most frequently are Linux; Alpine Linux, Openbsd and Windows(MS DOS and Windows 7)

I'm mostly interested in system architecture, networking and security though tend to deviate towards AI and OS dev

The languages I enjoy using the most for large projects are C and Go (learning more and more toward Go as time progresses),

though I know C extensively, appreciate Python,often use powershell scripts, -- fairly reluctantly -- have been known to use javascript.

I'm familiar with, although not really proficient, in a variety of other languages, including C++ and Lua.

I'd make it a point to learn new languages whenever possible; I have a particular fondness for Assembly, And for those interested in that sort of thing,

I do a lot of recreational programming as well. There are lots of projects that I work on.

Much of the recreational stuff I work on is written in C; I've released some of the software I've written under MIT and Gpl.

I've been continually participating in discord servers and telegram channels (mostly technology and computer science related).

I have a very strong interest in engineering,and technology

My interest in engineering and technology was first piqued as a kid by John carmack's video game(Doom) and has taken off ever since, and has been helped along through the years by such other programmers as Captain Draper,Linus Torvalds and Terry Davis.

I have a fairly strong background in computer engineering tho I lack quite fairly in mathematics

I learned some French in secondary school. I retained almost exactly none of each; I still remember the basics but I couldn't hope to carry on a meaningful conversation with a native speaker.

A few years ago I played around with Russian aand found myself becoming surprisingly good in it (far more than I learned of Spanish in the years that I spent with them).

I'm hardly fluent, but I can read at a pretty normal pace, understand practically everything I'm reading, and can carry on an email conversation, or a conversation over Session (I don't have enough practice understanding or speaking it realtime, though, so I'd probably have trouble in an actual person-to-person conversation.)

My favorite kinds of music are 90s jams, ambience, hip-hop, and rap, with some of the more sophisticated pop and even alternate cultural songs sneaking in. I like almost all other kinds of music, except I can't stand certain "Muslim" music or (ugh) gospel songs.

To give you an idea of my tastes, some of my favorite artists are Aaliyah, Dr chief Morocco Maduka, Coolio, Mary J. Blige,Dr Dre, Notorious Big and Kanye west . But my all-time favorite artist would be 2pac, hands down

I occasionally read biographies and technology books (although much less than I used to). The author I've read most is Walter Isaacson .

I tend to like various kinds of movies, including, I'll admit, action movies. Some of my favorites are American psycho, Mr robot, How to sell drugs online, James Bond and Jason Bourne trilogies

My sense of humor is, well, fairly dark, although I'm kind enough not to expose strangers to it

I've written some articles on Dev.to,and had about two pages full of my writing published in Wikipedia

I watch a lot of television; my favorite show far and away is X Files, Big Bang Theory, Sons of anarchy ,Family Guy, Grimm, Silicon Valley,Ricky and Morty, Chicago fire are a few of my other favorite shows

I also play a lot of computer games

I particularly like first person shooters;

I've been playing Pubg Mobile since the demo test

I'm rather good at it. I also play a lot of GTA vice city, minetest and retro games on emulator.

Other games I've played a great deal of are Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Lichess, Pacman 2003 and, most recently,Duke Nukem and Legend of Zelda

Because of my inclination toward these type of games, I've gone as far as writing articles on video games.

I'm good enough at them that I fairly routinely get accused of cheating (even though I have never cheated).
